Brynn Taylor

Brynn Taylor was born with a rare, life-threatening heart defect. Weighing just 2 pounds at birth, Brynn would need to wait until she weighed 5 pounds to have open-heart surgery at UR Medicine's Golisano Children's Hospital.

A heart arrhythmia caused Brynn's heart to stop twice during surgery. "They saved her life—twice," says Ryann Taylor, Brynn's mom. "It was incredible."

While Brynn still faces more surgeries for her heart, she has bounced back with amazing resilience. She loves music, dancing, books—and keeping her parents busy with her boundless energy and enthusiasm.
