Hereditary Arrhythmia Clinic

Some heart rhythm disorders are often inherited, especially some of the more dangerous ones. So if one person is diagnosed with an arrhythmia, other family members may be affected, too.

The Hereditary Arrhythmia Clinic at URMC is one of a handful of centers in the world that provides comprehensive management of patients with hereditary rhythm disorders and their families. Using a multidisciplinary approach, we help patients get the information and potential lifesaving treatments they need.

If you or a family member of yours has been diagnosed with one of the following disorders, please contact us for a consultation:

  • Long QT Syndrme
  • Brugada Syndrome
  • Short QT Syndrome
  • Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia (AVRD), arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) or arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia/cardiomyopathy (ARVD/C)
  • Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia (CPVT)

Our clinic is able to provide treatments and recommendations including medication, defibrillator implantation, and lifestyle modifications. After initial visit, patients may continue to follow up with our physicians or work with their own family physicians or cardiologists for ongoing care.
