Our cardiac surgeons continually work on minimally invasive techniques into all types of heart surgery. In each procedure we perform, every effort is made to limit the trauma to the patient. In these types of procedures, one or more small incisions is made between the ribs, giving easy access to and clear visualization of all internal areas. Specially designed instruments allow us to then use the same, standard techniques we use in open-chest procedures.
