Keith Burhans lost both of his lower legs in a boating accident. He went on to receive prosthetics and to be a leading competitor in paralympic sailing. Years later, Keith needed a hip replacement, but the surgery would be especially complex because of bio-mechanical issues relating to his prosthetics. His hip replacement was completed successfully at the Evarts Joint Center at Highland Hospital. Keith has now returned to an active life of sailing and working out at Midtown Tennis Club.
