Precision Pathology

Precision medicine is absolutely happening in breast cancer care.

We're now able to look at breast cancer and appreciate that there are subsets of breast cancer, some of which are indolent and require very different therapies from other types of breast cancer that are more aggressive.

Here at Wilmot and with particularly having subspecialty pathology, we're able to classify those tumors and provide information that will allow a more precise tailoring of the treatment to that patient's cancer biology. The precision treatment involves identifying the major molecular drivers of that patient's tumor and tailoring her treatment to address that biology and shut those tumor cells down.
